BioCellection’s cofounders, Miranda Wang and Jeanny Yao, met in their high school recycling club and have been innovating solutions to the plastic problem since 2011. They founded BioCellection to turn plastic waste with negative value into useful products for sustainable supply chains.
BioCellection invented a patent-pending recycling process that uses a cheap, industrial liquid catalyst to convert unrecyclable or contaminated plastic films into biodegradable chemicals.
What makes them special?
BioCellection is the only company that has achieved chemical recycling of polyethylene plastics, which is the most abundantly produced plastic in the world. By working with recycling plants that sort and recover waste materials, BioCellection can prevent significant amounts of plastic waste from entering landfills and oceans.
