As a Portfolio Manager, Danya works directly with Elemental Excelerator’s agriculture and water portfolio companies to help them implement successful projects, find follow-on funders and customers, and scale their products and services. In addition, she supports our policy, public education, and community engagement work.
Prior to Elemental Excelerator
Danya was the Program Director for Hawaiʻi Center for Food Safety, a non-profit organization that serves as an advocate for local and regenerative food systems. Most recently, Danya worked with Elemental portfolio company, Kunoa Cattle Company, as their Outreach Manager. She also has a background in freelance filmmaking, where she worked for over five years producing television programs and web-based video for National Geographic and Discovery Communications.
She holds an M.S. in Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University, where she focused on resource-based conflict, and a B.A. in Communications and Business Management from Virginia Tech University. She is originally from Washington, D.C. and resides in Honolulu.
Outside of the office
You can find her exploring– whether it be hiking in the woods, sailing across the islands, or (attempting) to cook some delicious Syrian food.
