Debbie is responsible for recruiting, developing, and maintaining the EEx startup pipeline. She also contributes to EEx’s programming and relationship building that enables startups, utilities, and investors to connect and make clean energy projects happen.

Debbie is a long-term believer in clean energy, having started as an intern at PowerLight almost 20 years ago. She has worked in a number of clean energy roles, including at the China Energy Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory at U.C. Berkeley, Navigant Consulting’s Energy Practice, First Solar, SolarCity, the Asia Society of Northern California, and in energy efficiency program evaluation. While living in Beijing, China, she co-founded the first Chinese language carbon newsletter and conducted research on the Clean Development Mechanism and climate policy. She earned her Master of Public Administration in Environmental Science, Policy and Management at Columbia University and her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Economics and Policy at U.C. Berkeley. She is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and in conversational Cantonese.
