Jamila oversees special projects at Elemental Excelerator, working closely on operations to ensure key parts of the program run optimally.

Prior to joining Elemental Excelerator Jamila practiced civil and commercial litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, condominium association and homeowner’s association law at Porter McGuire Kiakona & Chow in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Jamila has a JD from the William S. Richardson School of Law with an additional certificate in environmental law and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Minor in Political Science from The George Washington University.

Prior to law school Jamila was an advocate with the Domestic Violence Action Center, assisting survivors of domestic violence with various social and legal issues. Upon her graduation from law school, she joined the Medical-Legal Partnership for Children in Hawaii, where her work included writing health law policy and facilitating a pro bono legal clinic at Kokua Kalihi Valley Community Health Center. Jamila continues these personal and professional pursuits working with the community through her role on the Young Lawyers’ Division Board of the Hawaii State Bar Association as its President-elect.
