Kevin worked in electric mobility directing policy strategy and communications initiatives at Volta Charging (founded in Hawaii), where he was recognized as an “EV Power Player” by Business Insider. Kevin served in the Obama Administration as a Senior Climate Policy and Communications Advisor in multiple posts: including on the White House climate team, at the Pentagon as speechwriter and advisor to the Secretary of Defense, at the US Department of Energy as Special Advisor to the Secretary of Energy, and at the US EPA as Chief Speechwriter and advisor then U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Gina McCarthy. Kevin has experience advising progressive campaigns for candidates and causes, including as a senior advisor on Tom Steyer’s 2020 presidential bid.
Kevin has a graduate degree from the Yale School for the Environment where he focused on international environmental governance (and advised the Association of Small Island States at the UN). His private sector experience spans food and beverage, finance, interactive media, health tech, and entertainment – having advised startup founders to Fortune 50 executives alike. Kevin is a fellow at the Truman National Security Project, was listed on Forbes 30 under 30 for law and policy (2016).
