A Five-Year Strategy for Scaling Climate x Social Equity Solutions
On this episode of Scaling to Zero, CEO of Elemental Excelerator, Dawn Lippert shares their five-year strategy for scaling climate and social equity solutions. This episode also features part one of “Elemental Live: Mobility x Social Equity,” an online gathering held earlier this year with Elemental portfolio company Remix and community partner TransForm.
Infrastructure Innovation with Ari Raivetz of Transcend
Early in his career, Ari Raivetz, Founder and CEO of Transcend, worked on Wall Street financing fracking operations. He saw the impact of those operations on one of our most precious resources, water. Today he’s building tech solutions for engineering firms, utilities, and technology suppliers and designing critical infrastructure, starting with the wastewater industry. In this episode, Dawn Lippert, Elemental’s CEO, and Kim Baker, Elemental’s Director of Water Innovation, talk with Ari about his journey to climate tech.
Zero Emissions Aviation w/ Val Miftakhov of ZeroAvia
Clean aviation is here. Val Miftakhov piloted a zero-emission, hydrogen airplane back in September. He’s also the Founder and CEO of ZeroAvia, a company building this clean aviation future. In this episode, Dawn Lippert, Elemental’s CEO, and Danielle Harris, Elemental’s Director of Mobility Innovation, talk with Val about building trust in a changing aviation industry, exiting prior startups, and his love of planes as a child.
Building a Climate Tech Workforce w/ Evette Ellis of ChargerHelp!
Evette Ellis is bridging climate tech, more specifically zero-emission transportation, and the workforce. She is the co-founder of ChargerHelp! and finds inspiration in her family and faith. In this episode, Dawn Lippert, Elemental’s CEO, and Danielle Harris, Elemental’s Director of Mobility Innovation, talk with Evette about building a climate tech workforce that represents the communities they serve, breaking generational norms, and the opportunity to address climate change and unemployment together.
We have approximately 10 years to reverse the course of climate change. We are both urgent and optimistic in rising to this challenge because entrepreneurs and communities are proving it’s possible.
Here at Elemental, we work with those entrepreneurs and communities every day. The premise of our work is that climate change and social justice are connected – and therefore the solutions have to be as well. We’re a startup accelerator that funds companies working on solutions to the challenges of our changing climate. Not just the environmental challenges, but the economic and social ones too.
We believe in the audacity of entrepreneurs to address climate change and social inequality, not one at a time, but together. And, we know that industries don’t change without entrepreneurs, and our role at Elemental is to help them build companies that take care of our planet and its people – and help the world scale to zero… zero emissions that is.
This Fall, as the pandemic took unexpected twists and turns we found hope and inspiration in the conversations we were having with founders and innovators. So we recorded a handful of interviews with them and are sharing them on this podcast.
So sit back, tap subscribe, and get ready to hear the stories of those who are helping build a better tomorrow.
