Annie DIllon

As Development Manager, Annie develops data-driven grant applications, pitches and funding proposals to grow philanthropic and federal support for Elemental’s programs. As part of the Growth team, she helps to develop the organization’s funding strategy more broadly, looking for opportunities to strategically direct philanthropic capital and federal funding to innovative pilot projects and programs within Elemental’s portfolio.

Prior to Elemental Excelerator

Prior to joining Elemental, Annie was a scientist at Oakland-based nonprofit research institute Physicians, Scientists, and Engineers for Healthy Energy, where her data-driven research focused on designing carbon emission reduction strategies to maximally benefit environmentally overburdened communities. Previously, Annie researched financial and legal models for community-owned energy at the Rocky Mountain Institute, and worked with the nonprofit The Working World to establish a fund for solar projects benefiting low-income communities in the U.S. She is passionate about solutions to the climate crisis that address social equity and public health issues in addition to carbon emissions.

Annie grew up in San Francisco and is currently based in New York. She graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Systems and a Master’s Degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Outside of the office

Annie studies guitar and songwriting, and you can often find her exploring the incredible live music scene in NYC. She is also a rock climber, and spends most days daydreaming about the granite boulders and moonlike landscapes of the Eastern Sierra.
