Sonia is an event organizer based in San Francisco. Through thoughtful event planning, Sonia aims to create spaces for people to feel connected, learn from one another, advance justice, and experience joy. Prior to joining Elemental Excelerator, Sonia managed events and fundraising at The Greenlining Institute, a racial justice policy advocacy organization in Oakland. In 2021, she started her own project, Cut to the Feels, in which she gathers community for benefit show dance parties. At Cut to the Feels, Sonia strives to uplift Bay Area artists; foster deep feeling, self expression, and belonging; and raise money for organizations fighting for justice, such as Northern California Innocence Project.
Outside of the office
When she’s not deep in the detailed tabs of an event work plan, Sonia can be found experimenting in the kitchen, singing at the cabaret, or coming up with new material to entertain her nieces and nephews.
